The first of the fall classes will be wrapping up today. Its been nice to have students bringing the campus back to life. We had a small but great group of teachers and students this week. I spent a lot of time peaking in on Justin Rothshanks decal class but there was so much going on in all of the classes. Here are a few pics from this week.

Glazing and Wadding and loading and time lapse....
I've been busy getting work glazed and ready for loading into the soda kiln over the last week. Here is a clip of me glazing late into the night at light speed and another of wadding pots and loading the bottom shelf of the soda kiln here at Arrowmont. I will try to take another time lapse of the unloading and will be attempting to shoot all the work before taking it up to the Artist In Residence Open studio this Wednesday at 5pm. Hope to see some of you there.
Enjoy!

just past the red barn...
If you've ever been to Arrowmont, you know there is a magic land beyond the red barn where nature is reclaiming its territory. I took some photos many weeks ago and thought I would share...

our first exhibition
We just installed our first exhibition in the Loggia Gallery at Arrowmont which is sort of an introduction to our work. We worked on the layout and install with Stefanie, the new Gallery Coordinator here at Arrowmont, to put together what I think is a really great looking show! Once all the work was in place it was a lovely surprise to see how well everyone's pieces complimented one another. All of the pieces have a somewhat subdued or natural color palette which ties everything together. Here are some photos:
